If your employer offers Wellthy as a benefit, you and your loved ones can use our services at no cost. “Loved ones” includes anyone you care for - siblings, parents, aunts, uncles, family members, close friends, neighbors - even pets. (Pet care support varies by employer)

A Care Coordinator is a dedicated expert who helps manage all aspects of your caregiving situation. They research options, coordinate services, handle paperwork, and provide ongoing support—saving you time and stress.
Wellthy’s Care Coordinators are highly qualified professionals with deep experience in caregiving, healthcare, and social services. Many hold advanced degrees and certifications, such as Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Registered Nurse (RN), Certified Senior Advisor (CSA), or Master of Public Health (MPH). Our team includes experts in eldercare, disability support, special education, mental health, and complex care navigation. All Coordinators receive ongoing training and collaborate with a multidisciplinary Care Team to ensure families receive expert, compassionate, and personalized support.
Yes. Whenever possible, we’ll keep you with the same Care Coordinator to ensure consistency and build a trusted relationship. Many families work with the same Coordinator over months or even years.
If the match isn’t working for any reason, we’re happy to assign a new Care Coordinator. Just message us through the platform or contact support, and we’ll ensure you get the right fit for your needs.
It depends on the task. For urgent situations, our Care Coordinators act as quickly as possible. For more complex needs—like finding the right home health aide, moving a loved one into long-term care, or resolving insurance issues—timelines can vary based on the healthcare system and provider response times. No matter the task, we always work with urgency and keep you updated with regular status reports so you know exactly where things stand.
Backup Care helps you quickly find short-term care when your regular caregiver is unavailable. You can request Backup Care directly through the Wellthy platform or by messaging your Care Coordinator. We provide options for in-home or in-center care for children and adults, along with bespoke options like camps, activities, and community programs. What’s also different about Wellthy’s Backup Care solution is that we can help employees build a personalized Care Circle—a speed dial of care options—that can be called upon whenever a Backup Care need emerges.

Yes. You can get support for multiple family members across different types of care. For example, we can help with a child’s special needs plan and also assist an aging parent at the same time.
Yes, you can get support for your own personal care needs from Wellthy’s expert Care Team. (Note: Some employer benefit program designs may require referral to other providers for self-care projects. In these circumstances, Wellthy’s team is seamlessly able to connect an employee to a preferred provider for self-care needs or coaching.)
No. If your employer or health plan offers Wellthy, the service is completely free for you and any eligible loved ones.

Backup Care Specialists ensure families get fast, personalized support—often within hours—so employees can stay focused and avoid missing work.
Wellthy Community is a peer-to-peer support space where caregivers can connect, share experiences, and get emotional support from others going through similar caregiving journeys. It’s a private, moderated environment for Wellthy members only. Not all Wellthy members have access to Wellthy Community - if you have any questions, reach out to your Care Coordinator or Member Support.

Our Care Coordinators can review and explain coverage, identify in-network providers, sort out the cost of care, and help contest inaccurate or unexpected medical bills. While EAPs offer short-term, general support, Wellthy goes deeper—providing hands-on, expert help to navigate complex and long-term caregiving needs. Each family is matched with a dedicated Care Coordinator who manages tasks like researching providers, scheduling services, and building care plans. Unlike EAPs, Wellthy stays with families through every step of their care journey, delivering high-touch support, measurable outcomes, and ongoing guidance across eldercare, childcare, mental health, special needs, and more. In addition, EAPs do not provide Backup Care support for families - Wellthy offers support for all care needs including emergency Backup Care.
A Care Project is how you get help from Wellthy. You submit a request—like finding home care, appealing a medical bill, or arranging childcare—and your Care Coordinator creates a personalized plan, works through the details, and shares updates as progress is made.
You can securely message your Care Coordinator at any time through the platform. It's the easiest way to ask questions, share updates, or request support, and you'll receive prompt, personal responses as your care needs evolve.
Your Care Circle includes anyone you invite to collaborate on a Care Project—like a spouse, sibling, or trusted friend. Everyone in the circle can view updates, communicate with the Care Coordinator, and stay in the loop. You can easily invite a loved one to join a Care Project by clicking “Invite others to the Care Circle” from your main platform view.
Tasks are the action steps your Care Coordinator is working on—or that you might need to complete. Each task is clearly outlined with status updates so you can easily track progress and know what’s next.
The Calendar tool helps you keep track of important dates—like medical appointments, care transitions, or school meetings. You or your Care Coordinator can add key events so everything is organized in one place. The Calendar can be synced with your Google calendar, if desired!
The Medication Tracker allows you to log and manage medications for yourself or a loved one. You can record dosage, frequency, and refill dates, and your Care Coordinator can help you stay on top of prescriptions or find local pharmacy support.
Contacts is a secure space to store care-related phone numbers, emails, and provider information. Whether it’s a favorite doctor, home aide, or insurance rep, you’ll have all the details in one place—and your Care Coordinator can help you keep it up to date.
